What does BattR offer as a service?
Optimizing your electricity bill in a fully automated way. The service consists of two parts:
- Computing the optimal “plan”, taking the hourly electricity rates into account
- Converting the “plan” into automated actions on your home battery and/or electric car
This way,
- The battery is charged at the cheapest time of day, so that this cheap electricity can be used at times when it would be more expensive to take it from the grid
- The car is charged at the cheapest hours, taking the desired target level into account
As a result, users can reduce their electricity costs without having to constantly think about it.
How much can I save on my electricity bill by using BattR?
It’s hard to answer this question, as it depends on your specific situation.
So far, my personal experience has been a very promising one. In February 2023, I switched from a fixed electricity price to a dynamic one and started using BattR.

Yes, at the moment you can use BattR free of charge.
Why does BattR need my address?
For two reasons:
- To get the energy prices for your country or region
- To forecast your solar energy input
Why does BattR need the username and password of my home battery and/or electric car?
In order to compute the optimal “plan”, using the current battery level, and to automatically apply it on the device.
Why does BattR need the solar capacity, declination and azimuth of my solar panels?
To make the solar forecast as accurate as possible.
I don’t have a dynamic energy contract, should I use BattR?
It is indeed assumed that the user has a dynamic energy contract, exactly because that’s where the opportunities are to optimize the electricity usage.
Nevertheless, using BattR will not harm your electricity bill either. So, even without a dynamic energy contract, you are very welcome to make a profile and to test BattR!
I don’t have a home battery, should I use BattR?
Yes, BattR can still be used to charge your electric car at the cheapest hours.
